About this CSA course

This 10-hour training covers recovery and resilience, psychiatric rehabilitation, communication, mental health and co-occurring disorders, and crisis coping skills.

Eligibility and training requirements

Under 908 KAR 2:250, community support associates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma, GED, or comparable qualifying documentation, and have one year of full-time experience working with people receiving services for mental health or co-occurring disorders. The approved initial training must be completed within six months of hire.

The regulation also establishes supervision requirements and at least six hours of related training or education in subsequent years of employment.
